Maxine McLellan is a home educating mother, a Canadian home school consultant, seminar/conference speaker, and the wife of an evangelical pastor. Maxine has written The Home Schooling Toolbox and Family Buried Alive...Help on the Way as well as a number of booklets. She writes articles for newsletters and magazines and was for a number of years a regular columnist in a Christian newspaper. This is what she has to say about the Toolbox.

"My foundations for the writing of The Home Schooling Toolbox include home educating our two children since September 1985. We have used a variety of curriculum resources along the way.

Through my role since 1974 as an evangelical pastor's wife, I have had much opportunity for contact with a wide variety of people and home schooling situations. Personal experience with home schooling has also included working under the pressure of longstanding health problems, hearing loss, and a moderate learning disability. In light of these experiences I feel God wants me to encourage others, "YES, you can do it!"

Written from a Christian perspective, one of the primary purposes of The Home Schooling Toolbox is to address questions asked by people who are considering home education, and those just interested in answers. Hopefully, it will also serve as a means for those who may have difficulty in doing so to articulate just why they are already involved in home education.

The Home Schooling Toolbox explores home education from a Canadian and a Christian perspective. The Home Schooling Toolbox is kept current with yearly updates of the address sections, or fully revised editions including coverage of additional curriculums and suppliers. Educating two little girls in our home since September 1999 keeps us on our toes and always on the look-out for more quality resources to share with you.

The Home Schooling Toolbox has been well received across the country. "100 Huntley Street," Christian television program, featured our second edition in September 1994.
